Part two investigates the degree of professional commitment among teacher education students in the National Pingtung Teachers College in Taiwan. Of five variables examined, vocational interest (Holland's SDS), gender, and GPA were the variables found to predict professional commitment; socioeconomic status (SES) and college class level were not related to professional commitment.

The results of stepwise multiple regressions indicated two-way interactions between vocational interest and GPA, and three-way interactions among vocational interest, gender, and GPA on all PCS Scales and total scale.

The results of two-way ANOVAs indicated significant two-way interactions between vocational interest and GPA on all PCS Scales and total scale for males, and significant two-way interactions between vocational interest and GPA on Valuing Teaching (Scale 2) for females.

One-way ANOVAs and Scheffe post hoc multiple comparisons indicated that Dedication (Scale 1), Career Continuance (Scale 3), and total scale can be used to differentiate the three vocational interest groups when GPA is low or medium. However, these scales do not distinguish the groups when GPA is high. Valuing Teaching (Scale 2) can be used to differentiate among the three vocational interest groups when GPA is low. This scale does not distinguish the groups when GPA is medium or high.
