This Capstone was a retrospective review of the three year journey of the formation of MedMatch Global Learning. The purpose of the Capstone Project was to review the three distinctive phases of business development that transpired over a three year period. The initial phase outlined a clinical research project with a local bariatric surgeon at a small regional medical facility. This phase included the details behind the clinical research project. The second business development phase documented the research, networking, and legal steps taken to form International Healthcare Options. The final section examined the changes initiated to create MedMatch Global Learning based on an analysis of the experiences during the first two business development phases. MedMatch Global Learning is a sole proprietor owned business entity, focused on finding quality externship opportunities for medical students of all specialties around the world. This project can be utilized by entrepreneurial students that want to start their own businesses. MedMatch Global Learning is a business entity that is in the global healthcare market. The successes and failures behind forming MedMatch Global Learning can help future business owners successfully develop their business while avoiding the hazards encountered during the formation of this business entity.
