This study was designed to examine how treatment integrity of parents with children with autism was affected by goal setting and child performance feedback, and child and parent performance feedback and directed rehearsal with meeting cancellation contingency. Parents were trained to implement a procedure named the "three-step guided compliance" which is an intervention designed to provide a prompting hierarchy for noncompliant behaviors. During the first condition, parents were given feedback regarding the child's performance based on the set goal. In the next condition, parents were given feedback on child's performance and treatment integrity on their own performance and were able to avoid an additional meeting in the form of directed rehearsal if treatment implementation goals were met. The latter condition increased treatment integrity and treatment effectiveness above baseline levels. Higher levels of treatment integrity resulted in increased levels of child's compliance.
