The public sector is experiencing unprecedented change due to budgetary, structural and operational challenges. These challenges offer implications for the employment relationship of the workforce, especially dual status organizations that require federal employees to maintain a military-reserve membership as a condition of employment. This study evaluates the relationship between violation and organizational commitment within the context of dual status employees in a federal agency. Moreover, the research highlights the degree of program/behavior alignment to determine whether the macro-organization is detrimental to the workforce. The research was conducted by using a correlational design with quantitative analysis to interpret research findings. The findings reflect that violation shares a significant correlation with affective and normative components of organizational commitment in dual status employees. However, continuance commitment has only an insignificant correlation with violation. Recommendations and implications for further research are also included.
