This dissertation examines the Korean War cease-fire negotiations between 1950 and 1953. The study has three major goals: to explore how the Korean War ended, to analyze the policymaking process of both the Chinese and American sides during the negotiations, and to demonstrate how military power on the battlefield dictated negotiation strategies at the bargaining table. By applying new documents and sources released by the Russian archives and Chinese government during the past few years, the result of this research provides a perspective picture of the Korean War cease-fire negotiations.
