The Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program serves as a proactive method for assisting young children who have numerous disabilities as well as the child's family members or caregivers. The program provides developmental services for children from birth to the age of three. ECI is intended to help children with developmental problems or disabilities achieve their full potential since early childhood experiences build the foundation for academic and life success. Service providers have difficulty in assisting families who do not consistently attend or participate in the program. The study was designed to examine family and service provider perceptions on the factors in the ECI program that families value the most, which could help generate strategies that encourage family involvement and increase the effectiveness of the program. The case study design was based on qualitative data collected from interviews of four to six families and focus group interviews of ECI service providers in the early childhood intervention program in Brownsville, Texas. The results revealed seven elements that answered the two research questions the study sought to address. These elements were (a) valuable elements in ECI program services, (b) perceived success indicators of ECI program, (c) factors that influence the parents' participation to ECI program, (d) service coordinators' perceived valuable elements in ECI program services, (e) service coordinators acts as a support system, (f) attitude of the families, and (g) valuable program input required to improve the ECI program. The understanding of valuable and least valuable factors for families with children enrolled in ECI program guides the service providers in establishing a better relationship with the families and approach for a more effective ECI service.
