Thesis (M.A.)--State University of New York Empire State College, 2015.
This paper explores the history and the development of labor and employment laws. These three papers define and explain the development of the laws. Paper one discusses and defines the historic development of labor laws and the emergence of the laws that are contradictory. Paper two defines employment laws and describes its purposes and reasoning. Paper three of this paper highlights why the laws and governing bodies of labor are ineffectual. The history of these laws is illustrated in the development and creation of the NLRB, The Railroad Acts, Taft Hartley, the Wagner Act and those laws that encompassed the Erdman Act. Labor is the driving force that built the most powerful capitalist society in the world. These laws were not always enacted for egalitarian purposes, but to support capital. However, none of these laws have been effective enough to stand up to the challenges created by special interest and partisan politics.
