Business problems confronting the solar industry in California encompass international, political, and environmental concerns. As a result, there remains an urgent demand to provide calculated options and viable solutions to these problems. Strategic planning and industry survivability are dependent on overcoming barriers associated with consumer costs and dwindling state-supported incentives. Creation of California's 2020 renewables portfolio standard further underscores the need for a diversified energy supply. Implementing a successful intervention might also avert long-term uncertainties associated with traditional fossil fuels. The objective of this study is to identify incentives necessary for renewable energy businesses to locate and remain in California. A quantitative analysis of the industry might provide a futures vision for renewable energy and lead to a sustainable energy supply for California.
