This paper examines how to identify visual impairments in preschool students and how having this information is important to effectively teach art. A guide for identifying visual deficiencies was created that includes how to find existing records of any visual deficiencies in students, exercises to help identify unrecorded visual deficiencies, data sheets for keeping track of students' progress over time, and recommendations for art activities to help hand-eye coordination. This guide can be used by teachers who would like to be able to use this information to more effectively teach their students, as well as to identify their students' needs and make accommodations.
