Nonprofit organizations succeed for numerous reasons. Success in nonprofits can be constituted as an ability to successfully implement the organizational mission. The lack of success can depend on the environment and the organizational understanding of that particular environment. Cultural differences can be a significant indicator of conflict and communication difficulties. To utilize language strategically, knowing how to communicate efficiently in diverse environments contributes to success. This theoretical dissertation presents an analysis of nonprofit leaders' language, communication, and how leaders effectively implement their organizational missions in global cross-cultural situations. Building upon Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT) and how people adjust speech based on their surroundings, this paper introduces Cultural Communication Assimilation Theory (CCAT) and how organizations using the theory can adjust their communication to the cultures into which they are assimilating. This study explores how the understanding of language, communication, and cultural patterns has an impact on the nonprofit leader's ability to successfully and effectively implement their organizational mission.
