This book seeks to demonstrate how action research can be used as a strategy to implement evidence into practice. It focuses on an action research study led by one of the authors in a medical imaging department of a large, acute teaching hospital as a case exemplar of how the approach can be used. Although the setting for this is specific and unique, the processes employed are transferable to any other healthcare setting This book is intended as an introductory guide to action research in translational health science. Included in the contents of this book is a discussion on the philosophical underpinnings of action research and methods used to conduct this type of research.
