The purpose of this study is to explore how drug abuse and feelings of school safety contribute to school violence amongst Latina adolescents. This was completed by conducting a quantitative study in which secondary data from the Centers for Disease Control, 2009 Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBS) was utilized. The findings reveal that there was a relationship between drug abuse and school violence amongst Latina adolescents. This study found that there was a relationship between feelings of school safety and school violence amongst Latina adolescents. The study also revealed that there was a relationship between bullying and school violence. These findings can help to develop preventative programs in order to decrease the prevalence- in school violence amongst Latina adolescents.
