This investigation examined factors that may influence the reaction of physiological arousal during physiological and neuropsychological testing, including the influence of induced anxiety. Previous research has demonstrated a relationship between physiological arousal and performance on neuropsychological testing. This study was designed to explore whether an induced anxious group versus a neutral group responded differently on these tasks. Results indicated that there was a significant difference in the heart rates of the two groups following the anxiety induction. Results also indicated that there were some significant differences between the groups on the neuropsychological tasks and no significant difference between the groups on the psychological inventory.Subjects--Topical Terms:
