Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Southern California, 2003.
This dissertation examines three distinct topics in the area of supply chain management. First, a bargaining framework in which agents of a supply chain, negotiate over the terms of trade is proposed. Adopting this framework, using techniques from cooperative and non-cooperative game theory, the structure of the supply chain is predicted. Second, certain contracting issues in what are commonly known as "vendor managed inventory systems" are analyzed. Finally, certain issues arising in the stocking of substitutable products are analyzed. Characterizing optimal policies, certain risk pooling anomalies and the equilibrium of a dynamic game are the contributions.Subjects--Topical Terms:
