Four choreographic works were produced as part of the Master of Arts degree program in Dance: <italic>Schoolyard, Prism, As One</italic>, and <italic> The Road You Choose</italic>. In addition, theatrical costumes and lights were designed for one student-choreographed piece. The works were performed by students from Lindbergh Middle School, Long Beach, California, and performed on stage with high school students at Milikan High School in Long Beach, California on November 7, 1996.

520 $a <italic>Schoolyard</italic>, choreographed by the M.A. candidate, portrayed the lives and emotions of middle school dance students. <italic>Prism</italic>, choreographed by the M.A. candidate, was a dance created on, as well as for, video tape. <italic>As One</italic>, choreographed by middle school students Sheena Richmond, Chasity Smith, and Shainn Todd, combined traditional and contemporary jazz music rhythms and dance styles. <italic>The Road You Choose </italic>, choreographed by middle school student Sheryl Calipusan, explored the theme of self-reliance. Costumes and lights were designed for <italic> The Road You Choose</italic> to enhance the qualities of the dance.
