Using an online survey on Blackboard, it was found that the majority of participants seek individualized, detailed, timely and regular feedback from their instructors in online classes. The analysis of the data also indicated that, the majority of students who participated in this study associate useful feedback with receiving a paragraph describing their strengths and how to improve their work and they perceive e-mail as the most useful method of receiving feedback.
