The purpose of this paper is to offer an overview and evaluation of Google News in the hope of giving online journalists a better understanding of this new service. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is an overview of Google News' history, background and the site architecture. The second part is an evaluation of Google News' performance, including the pros and the cons and a survey of headline comparison. The final part is to examine the impact of Google News on online journalism through news aggregation.
