This study examined the impact of bullying on ninth grade Hispanic students in the state of Texas from the perspectives of the students and their teachers through the use of the 2002 Harris/Petrie Bullying Survey for Students and Teachers. The data was collected from 7 school districts in the state of Texas, resulting in a sample of 202 Hispanic ninth graders. The purpose of this study was to investigate and answer some of the questions regarding bullying in the schools of Texas among the Hispanic ninth grade population, a segment of the secondary education population often overlooked in such studies. The study presents a rationale for future decisions concerning the reality of bullying within the sample population, what the profile of a bully in Texas secondary education among the Hispanic student population looks like, and the extent of the effect of bullying on those same students. The rationale also extends to the teachers of those 9th grade Hispanic students and the teachers' perceptions of the problem of bullying.
