Thesis (Psy.D.)--Adler School of Professional Psychology, 2004.
Data was collected from 3 groups of individuals in order to determine the degree of the Adlerian concept of Social Interest between the three groups. Individuals in these three groups were Administered the Sulliman Scale of Social Interest. Additional information was sought on whether there was a significant difference in the degree of Social Interest between the first two groups. Group one had all been convicted of a sexual offense. Group two had all been convicted of at least two Driving Under the Influence charges. Group three had no history of being arrested. Results indicated a significant difference in the overall scale of the Sulliman p = 0.006 between the Sex Offender and No Arrest group. Significance was found in Subscale 2 "confidence in oneself and optimism in one's view of the world" when the same two groups were compared p = .002. There was also significance between the DUI group and the No Arrest group on Subscale 2 p = .022.
