Relationships between advertising and street art are multi layered, regarding media, aesthetic, and propaganda proliferation. Street artists have garnered attention from galleries and museums by working outside of those institutions while criticizing those institutions. Street artists are likely to produce work through commerce, for sale, or as design while questioning capitalism's effect on society.
