Thesis (M.A.L.S.)--State University of New York Empire State College, 2007.
My thesis creates an art curriculum designed to meet the needs of special education students in a middle school environment. Research shows how beneficial the art experience is in terms of helping children with special needs attain success and self fulfillment. Art inspires creativity and offers a venue where students are encouraged to think outside the box. With inspiration from a number of famous artists, this curriculum includes lesson plans which introduce this special population of students to new ways of making art, using materials, and trying techniques that insure success.Subjects--Topical Terms:
