520 $a Considering that wine is an interesting sector for investment for both local and foreign capitals and also a major objective of public policies, in this thesis Wine sector is valuated using financial tools.
520 $a This thesis also analyses the existence in Rioja region of both a huge wine cluster and an agroindustrial district around it. The main features of clusters and industrial districts are discussed. Once applied to Riojan economy and society, they explain the link between the growth of the wine sector and the Riojan economic development. In fact, Rioja has continuously overperformed Spanish economic growth since mid-nineties.
520 $a Furthermore, the socio-economic configuration as an Enopolis has built in Rioja a prosperous society in which wealth is well distributed among families. Thus, Rioja is the leading region in Spain if the rate of "rich families" and the growth of this rate are considered.
