The purpose of this study was to determine if there was a difference in nutrition knowledge of gymnasts taught nutrition education and those not taught nutrition education. Proper nutrition for young athletes is essential for quality performance. This study was conducted on 72 female gymnasts aged 10 to 13 at the United States Air Force Academy which included three days of nutrition education focusing on the Food Guide Pyramid, calcium, and iron, and one day of completing a nutrition knowledge questionnaire.
