A thermodynamic metric etaphi on a maximal integral submanifold Sphi of a odd dimensional contact manifold P is the Hessian of a smooth function phi of the extensive variables. We investigate the geometric aspects of thermodynamic metrics, specifically signature changing and the scalar curvature defined on different equilibria surfaces by the choice of thermodynamic potential and extensive variables. We discuss several topics related to thermodynamic metrics, including Weinhold metric with examples, Legendre transformations's metric, chemical reactions, linear elasticity and thermodynamic length. We also describe the curvature of such metrics and related physical aspects.
