This study described and analyzed how Latin Global Leaders created meaning of their experience of working on a global scale. The study sought to deconstruct and interpret the meaning of work for key Latin business executives as they addressed global leadership issues. I intended to deconstruct globalization and global leadership discourses within the context of developing nations. I wanted to explore new meanings for those who have been marginalized in these texts. I wanted to write about those in the "Third World," and in particular, about those who live and work in South America.

The study focused on global leadership by paying attention at three levels: macro, micro and micrito ("little micro" in Spanish). The macro level identified the system's external variables, such as the organization's external and historical environment, in which I analyzed the discourses on capitalism and Latin America as a developing region. The micro level identified the system's internal elements in which I explored ABC Southern Cone Division's structures, internal processes, and the way in which the leaders created meaning of their experience of working at a global scale. The analysis at the macro level was done by using a dual epistemology. First, I described the company as a holographic organization by examining their main issues and processes and looking at the major themes that emerged from the data. The second part of the analysis was done by using deconstruction, a postmodern approach, in which I deconstructed the main stories, or discourses, managers expressed by analyzing their binary logic of dual and opposite thinking. The deconstruction aimed to determine some of the contradiction and power relations (at the macro and micro level) managers experienced. I attempted to deconstruct their stories to analyze the way in which they presented conflicts, potential paradoxes, and contradictions.

At the micrito level, I attempted to include myself within the data analysis. Basically, I attempted to apply reflectivity (Watson, 1997; Fontana, 1994) to the analysis by deconstructing the way in which I had created the organizational analysis. At the micrito level, I described my struggle for making sense of the data and the constructed analysis.
