A complete solar concentrator photovoltaic system modeling program has been introduced to estimate the seriousness of the performance degradation of the concentrator solar cell device under nonuniform illumination and temperature. The program uses a nonlinear circuit analysis model (both thermal and electrical) with the cell area broken into a large number of P-N junctions interconnected with appropriate resistances. Model validation was examined by comparing the generated result with existing experiment results.Subjects--Topical Terms:
