Communication has been vital to society since the advent of language. Two pre-homo sapiens may have communicated with a series of grunts, hand signals and gestures. Today, we communicate with auditory utterances that are highly complex and are able to describe nearly everything around us. The pre-homo sapiens had difficulty communicating over distances. They were limited by their ability to generate and project sounds and signals. Today, we can broadcast our communications - voice, data, video, photos, and all other manner of communications - around the world in a fraction of a second.
