This book discusses the emergence of a new concept of law at the global level in the field of sustainable development. It examines the four-decade-long evolution of the concept of sustainable development from the Stockholm Conference of 1972 until the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015. It brings forward a step-by-step guide for exploring the law-like quality of global norms from a legal positivist and legal pluralist perspective. Dr. Halil Göksan is a Swiss-Turkish jurist passionate about the Sustainable Development Goals. This book originates from his doctoral dissertation obtained from the University of Geneva with Magna cum Laude mention. He also specialises in international administrative law and authored a publicly available handbook on UN Administrative Law.
